tarte Cosmetics prides itself on being a brand that is all-natural, eco-friendly, and paraban-free - very appealing for anything that you would want to put on your face. With their MultiplEYE Clinically-Proven Lash Enhancing Primer, I was intrigued since I never really used a primer before my mascara before. So I thought I’d give it a shot.

From the description, there’s a claim that it can “prep, prime and for the first time increase the appearance of lash volume by 739% while increasing lash length” - definitely some big promises to live up to.

From the bottle, the stiff brush was a really nice detail, since it makes applying a lot easier. With one coat, you can start to see that it coats pretty well, leaving a lot for the mascara to stick to.

When applying your mascara over it, just make sure that you coat it pretty well, to cover up that white primer formula.

The close-up results are a bit hard to see, but it actually did do a pretty good job at giving my lashes some volume. Though not the expected 739% increase, which might have happened if I wanted to drown my lashes in mascara…but at least 200% with one mascara coat.

Compared to the lashes on the right that only got a coating of mascara, it’s noticeably more full on the left with the primer application beforehand.

Available at tarte retailers for $22, it’s not 739% impressive, but does do an okay job at giving your lashes some volume before your mascara. Though I would look to pick this up again mainly for the natural appeal, since it’s made with their “clinically-proven HydroPlant peptide, a soy-amino super protein,” that aims to provide your lashes with some conditioning nutrients to stimulate from root to tip.
