With its cute bottle design, Flora by Gucci Eau Fraiche caught my eye instantly. With an emphasis to be aimed at providing the user with “youthful elegance,” it definitely sounded like something I wanted to check out.

Scent: Described as having a “mandarin top note,” I can catch it right away. It makes it smell very bright and fruity, though then it moves onto the floral heart of the fragrance, with a mix of rose and osmanthus flower scents. Very warm-like, especially when it subtly mixes with the base notes of sandalwood.

Bottle + Application: Rather than be presented with the traditional spray nozzle like most of the perfumes I’ve seen, Flora is presented via short and cute bottle. The shape definitely makes you intrigued to pick it up, alongside that cute bow detail. With this type of design, I was drawn and liked it immediately.

I think the like for the design made me not worry so much that it doesn’t have a spray applicator. Rather, you just sort of pop open the top and put some on with your finger (or directly if you’re in a rush, since the small opening doesn’t make it flow out or anything). But next to a few of my other fragrances, it definitely looks a bit daintier with its petite design. A plus for my eyes.

Overall: Somehow, I want to describe it as a flower garden at the beach. With the feminine and girly mood coming from the floral scents, but it gets brought down to a non-overwhelming level with the sandalwood and more fruity scents that can also be said to be a bit sensual. Or a bit playful, if you will. This pleasant mix of the two sides makes me really love this for a daytime scent, since it is a bit more light, rather than seductive.

With various sizes to choose from (1 oz. to 2.5 oz.) and at a price point of about $49-$85, it’s not that bad since you have a bit more control on how much you’re using. And with this, you really only need a dab or two. So the bottle will really last you a while.

Score: 5/5

Love the bottle a lot. And the review really boosts up of what I think of it. The scent sounds really nice, especially the non-overwhelming part. Really nice. This really gets me to thinking to buying one of these.
