For a beauty product by Laura Mercier named Secret Brightening Powder, its effects are more than just a secret. Prior to getting my hands on the Secret Brightening Powder, its been pretty documented by beauty and fashion publications that this powder does an exceptional job of setting concealer and well, brightening. As I’m always up for anything with the promise of brightening, I decided to give it a try.
The Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder is described as, “a lighter-than-air powder used to set Secret Brightener, Secret Concealer and Secret Camouflage, while adding an invisible lightening boost.” To which I say yes on all counts.
When you use the powder to set concealer on dark circles (or other things that need concealing), concealer stays put pretty much all day. And yes, it does brighten. I loved its brightening effect on my undereyes so much that I’ve begun using it as my regular powder to set makeup. The powder is transparent so it will go over anything without conflict. When used all over the face to set makeup, the powder serves as a quick healthy brightening boost.
What I also love about the Secret Brightening Powder is that you don’t need a whole lot of it. The fact that it doesn’t take much to do its job justifies its cost of $22.
I highly recommend this anyone especially if dull skin, dark circles or spots are a concern.
