There’s really just something about Champagne colors that attract me. Maybe it’s the wearable factor that looks so pretty on any skin tone or the fun shimmer paired with that peachy gold shade. Either way, I found myself attracted when I got the chance to try out Tarte’s Provocateur Amazonian Clay Shimmering Powder in Champagne.
Compact: One of the first things that drew me to this particular product was the design of the compact. With its pinky peach quilted design, it was hard to resist not wanting to check it out. It makes for one very cute item to reach for, since it stands out from all my other (generally just black and plastic) ones. The detail with the name impressed into the top was a nice touch as well.

Color: As a champagne color, it’s very close to looking like my skin color, though there’s a bit more warmth and glow when you account for the shimmery finish. Though with how much shimmer is in there, it almost becomes more like a frosted satin finish - very pretty and not really that overpowering as you would think.
Application: It’s so soft and smooth that I don’t think I’ve ever really used something so easy before. From its description, the powder is aimed to be used pretty much everywhere, from your cheeks, brow bones, or eyes for a really nice glow. Being “finely milled” you can definitely feel the difference when you apply it and it’s also easy to build up on if you want a little more than just a subtle sheen.
Overall: Totally gorgeous and a great option for a neutral that I would more likely wear simply with some eyeliner or as the lighter companion to something darker or more smokey. Though on lazy days, I might be more prone to just use it as a highlighter on my cheeks to perk up my complexion.
But I love that it’s really easy to apply and goes from the compact to your skin so smoothly. Not to mention how pretty the shade itself is and how amazing it would work on anyone. At $30, it’s a bit pricey, but considering how much you get and its multiple uses, I find it worth the price and would definitely purchase on my own when I run out.
Score: 5/5
