Although the US is currently suffering through a recession, there stands one product that hasn’t been affected the slightestt bit; nail polish.

Market research firm NPD Group claim that nail polish sales have rocketed with a 65% increase since 2008, one of the very few products that have had that big of a sales increase since our economic crisis. Assumptions are being made that picking up a $5 bottle at the drugstore helps boost the moods of females; which is exactly what we need when going through rough times.

That colorful lacquer took over where lipstick left off with a 65% sales increase since 2008. It’s also believed that ladies who had frequently attended nail salons are now buying their own polish and painting at home as a more affordable option.

Nail polish is suspected to be the one beauty pick-me-up ladies can’t live without!
