As winter looms and the nights become darker, many of us will be adapting our skin/body care routine, especially to adapt to the changing temperatures as we move from the chilly cold outside to rough heating inside. There’s certainly a drying impact (on both hair and skin) from moving from bitter winter air to harsh central heating, but here’s are some of my beauty must-haves that will also help you to combat that transition…
1) Face Moisturizer
There’s no doubt that hydrating your skin is vital because as we spend so much time inside with the heating on slowly sucking away the moisture from our skin. To give your skin the splash of hydration its desparate for, it’s a good idea to invest in a face moisturizer to banish rough, dry skin. One of my personal favourites would have to be Clean & Clear’s Radiant Finish Moisturizer because not only is it light on your purse, but it also controls facial oil at the same time - bonus!
2) Moisturizing Lip Balm/Butter
Your lips are probably one of the most vulnerable parts to drying being so exposed to the air. There’s nothing much worse than rubbing your sore, dry lips together against the freezing wind, so get a moisturizing lip or butter that will see you through. A particular favourite of mine is Nivea’s A Kiss of Shimmer Pearly Shimmer Lip Care which adds a pearly glow to your lips, perfect to brighten up your look a on a dull wintery day.
3) Moisturizing Conditioner
Once hair experiences the harsh cold and then the drying heat, it will soon becomes lifeless and those dreaded split ends will begin to appear…To avoid this, it’s a good idea to put some boost into your hair and replenish all the strands with a moisturizing conditioner. I love Herbal Essences‘ Hello Hydration Conditioner which contains coconut milk for some real hair hydration.
4) Moisturizing Hand Lotion
There’s no arguing how important our hands are one of the most important components of our bodies - we need them for just about everything! That’s why we need to take good care of them and keep them happy! The way to do just that is through Nivea’s Hand Hand Cream Smooth Indulgence, which contains Vitamins B5 and F, as well as macadamia nut oil to leave your hands feeling both soft and smooth.
5) Moisturizing Face Masks
There’s nothing much I love more than a relaxing face mask. What better way to replace your skin’s moisture in the winter with a moisturizing face mask? I particularly love the Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizing Mask from My Beauty Diary. It comes with nourishing ingredients such as algae and oat extract to leave you with beautifully soft skin.
Remember that you don’t have to spend lots on looking fabulous during winter (as shown through these effective and wallet-saving products), but make sure you take care of your skin and body and most importantly, have fun!
