Pouty, fuller looking lips are something that a lot of women in this world want. However, it’s not genetically possible that everyone would have the same perfect pouty lips either. So, in order to get that pouty effect, you can use a simple thing like the e.l.f.’s Studio Pout Perfector in Glow to create an optical illusion of fuller looking lips.

Here’s what e.l.f. has to say about their product:

Create more volumized, fuller looking lips with the optical illusion of the Pout Perfecter gloss. The sheer pearl gloss instantly transforms your dull lip color to a defined light reflecting glow. This makeup artist secret can now be yours for picture perfect fuller lips, everyday!

Here are the directions:
Apply a small dab of the pearl Pout Perfecter gloss over lipstick or lip gloss, directly in the center of the lower lip to create a reflective glow. Pro Tip: Do not blend the Pout Perfecter all over the lips, as this will lose the dimensional pearl effect.

To a certain degree, everything that e.l.f. has stated about their product is essentially true. If you place that little dab at the center of your lip, then it will give you that pouty look that you are trying to achieve.

You also use very little of the product and given the fact that it does give you 0.31 oz of product. However, I found that no matter how little I put on, it always manages to smear and get all over the lip. The product is also very thick, which is one of the reasons why I believe it keeps smearing. The pout perfector also gives a brush type applicator, unlike your regular lip gloss velvety applicators which I definitely prefer more.

Here’s a sample pic of how you would apply it:

Overall, it is a product that does work and gives you what you are looking for, but it doesn’t really work as well as I would like it to. I believe that this would actually look better as a full lip gloss product because of how pretty the colour is, and the fact that it tends to smudge so easily. I wouldn’t repurchase this even if it is $3.00 because I find it not really that useful.

Score: 2/5
