Two things that I always like doing is helping others and using naturally made products that could also be considered eco-friendly as well. Josie Maran’s GOGO Instant Natural Volume Mascara does just that. With GOGO standing for “Get One, Give One,” you might already have an idea of the campaign that is tied along with this mascara.

Here’s what Sephora says about the mascara:

This mascara’s patented Triple V Brush delivery system coats lashes one luxurious layer at a time for full, longwearing, clump-free, water-resistant definition. The rich, hydrating formula evenly builds thickness and smoothness, delivering a full fringe of blacker-than-black lashes with dewy shine. This natural and exclusive formula dries quickly without smearing, smudging, clumping, or flaking. An infusion of nourishing, protein-rich Argan Oil conditions and supports hair growth for lush, supple, healthy lashes.

If you were wondering about the campaign that is tied along with this product, here it is:

The GOGO Campaign: Get One, Give One
Beauty for a cause. Josie Maran has teamed up with City of Hope, a leading cancer research, treatment, and education institution, to launch the Get One Give One Campaign. For each GOGO mascara purchased, Josie Maran Cosmetics will donate one mascara to a City of Hope cancer patient/survivor (up to 5,000 units). Thereafter, through Aug. 2012, $1.00 from the sale of each GOGO mascara will be donated to City of Hope’s research, treatment, and education of women’s cancers. Minimum donation of $25,000. With your purchase, you are helping women look better, feel better, and build self-esteem. Now isn’t that beautiful?

Here’s what it looks like on me: (for how my bare lashes look, click here.)

I do have to admit, I was quite disappointed in this product after using it. The description and the campaign that goes along with it are wonderful, but the product itself isn’t so much. The brush, like the description says, seperates lashes quite evenly and you cannot see signs of clumps anywhere. However, the black that this mascara comes with is certainly not dark enough! It will give you a great daytime look and make you look like you aren’t actually wearing mascara, but that’s about all. It doesn’t really give my lashes that volumizing ability they stated either as seen in the picture.

Overall, due to the fact that you can only use this mascara for a daytime look and nothing else, I feel that it is pretty overpriced at $22. Although it has a nice campaign that ties along with it and the fact that it is made with natural products, this product has certainly disappointed me.

Score: 3/5
