Review: NARS Orgasm Blush

No other blush in existence gets the amount of praise that cult-favorite NARS Blush in the Orgasm shade does. To understand the adoration and the hype behind Nars Orgasm, I gave it a try.

NARS Orgasm is described as a peachy pink with a golden shimmer. Upon close inspection, the shade is engineered to look great on any skin tone and decently pigmented — you just need a little bit of the blush to appear noticeable on your cheeks. To build up the golden shimmer, you’ll have to layer the blush on. It may appear coral at first, but when worn, it’s easy to see that it’s more pale-pink based than coral. The balance between cool peachy pink and the golden shimmer makes it easily worn for both cool and warm toned skin. Here it is swatched on my wrist:

What I love about Nars Orgasm is that it’ll go with any look so it’s great for when you’re unsure of what sort of blush shade to wear with x eye shadow or x lipcolor. As for wear, I found that it lasted me an entire day and even a walk or two in drizzling rain. No touch ups needed for this blush!

Although NARS Orgasm is a bit pricey at $27 USD, I think it’s a worthwhile investment because it’s a great no-brainer blush with great staying power. On it’s own, it’s good enough to give quick glow. You don’t need a whole lot of it for the color to come through so it’ll last you awhile.

I guess you can say that I understand the hype now and it’s not just because of its name.
