As I venture out into trying out more lip colours and lip glosses, one of the products that caught my eye was Clinique’s Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss. I got to try it out in the colour Raspberry. Why did this attract my eye you may ask? Hello there Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss in the name! As it gets closer and closer towards 0° Celsius (or 32° Fahrenheit), my lips are always protesting at the thought of being chapped by the cold and dry weather.
Here’s what Clinique has to say about their lip gloss:
Lip balm with a colourful twist. Luscious, high-gloss shades treat your most undermoisturized skin to soothing shine. Instantly relieve dryness, protect with antioxidants and more.
Moisture: The moisture for this lip balm/gloss hybrid lasts for around 1.5 hours. A typical lip balm lasts the same amount. I wasn’t really that pleased with the lip balm moisturizing abilities because hey, if you have a name that says superbalm moisturizing, it should live up to it’s name, no?
Scent/Taste: Like all Clinique products, this lip gloss has no scent or taste so if you’re allergic or wary of them, don’t fret!
Colour: Raspberry is a very well, raspberry colour and looks quite the same in and out of the tube. Maybe just a teeny bit sheerer. Here’s how it looks on my hand:
Overall, this product didn’t really blow me away. I really like the colour, the glossiness of the product and how it dispenses out of the tube, but the moisturising ability didn’t really live up to my standards.
Score: 3/5
