Long before there was NARS Orgasm blush, there was NARS lipstick. Curious to see what launched the NARS brand, I went ahead and tried NARS lipstick in Damage.
A swatch of Damage on my arm:
Since it kind of bears the same name of the ever-popular Danity Kane song, “Damaged,” I can’t help but get the song stuck in my head. I digress.
Nars Lipstick in Damage is described as a, “sheer muted grape.” Looking at the swatch, I’m sure you’ll agree. I’m not quite sure what sort of ‘damage’ a neutral wear anytime lipstick does. It certainly didn’t do any damage on my lips:
The color lasted me at least 4 hours before I had to reapply, which is great. As for texture, the lipstick is smooth, moisturizing and not too thick. You definitely won’t feel like you’re wearing lipstick when it’s on.
What’s strange is that as a muted grape color, it seems to do well with a bronzed look and complements my warm toned skin. (I’m wearing bronzer in the photo above.) I’m slightly afraid that on cooler toned individuals, the color may look too literal.
Overall, I loved NARS Lipstick in Damage and it’s instantly become my go-to daytime lipstick shade. I highly recommend this lipstick to anyone with warm toned skin looking for a great neutral shade.
Score: 5/5
