Vincent Longo’s Sun Moon Stars Eyeshadow Trio has a unique concept that likens your eyes to celestial beings (hence the ’sun, moon and stars’). The trio isn’t a palette of three eyeshadows but three shadows streamlined into one large eyeshadow pot, perhaps to suggest a sort of celestial balance. The trio that I recently tested was Orbit Dusk.

Up close:
While the individual shadows in the trio don’t have names, I would describe the ’sun’ as a golden beige, ‘moon’ a bronze and the ’stars’ a dark taupe shade. The Vincent Longo Sun Moon Stars eyeshadow trios are designed so that the sun, moon and stars of the trio correspond with a location on your eye that the color belongs. The sun is the color that is applied everywhere, the moon is meant for contouring/shading creases and the stars is applied on your upper lash line. All of the shadows have a subtle pearl finish so they’re not too obnoxious during the day and just right for night time. If you like a more intense eye, you can actually apply them wet. (Wet your brush not the eyeshadow.)

The look of Orbit Dusk is neutral and suitable for anyone that doesn’t want a bold or boring eye look. It’s somewhere in between. While I’m wearing a brown eye pencil in the photos above, you can instantly play up the drama by using black for night.

As for performance, Orbit Dusk held up all day with primer (Urban Decay Primer Potion). Of course, I don’t recommend wearing eyeshadow without a sort of primer.

Value-wise, I think it’s a great buy for $30. For those looking to streamline your makeup bag, Vincent Longo’s Sun Moon Stars Eyeshadow trio is perfect for that. You also get a complete look or, you can use the colors individually to play around with other eyeshadows you have lying around.
