Waterproof eyeliners–my favourite type of eyeliners out here because they’re not as prone to smudging and you can use them on your waterlines. Since I have a lot of black eyeliners, I decided to switch it up a bit and try this NYX Slide On Pencil in Tropical Green.
NYX describes their waterproof eyeliner as:
Don’t let the softness of this eye liner pencil fool you. Silky soft yet delivers a powerful robust color to line eyes. The formula is waterproof, doesn’t smear or smudge, and provides extreme color. It’s like a liquid eye liner in a pencil without the mess. Available in 18 intense shades.
Here’s a swatch of Tropical Green on my hand, it’s a dark emerald green with some gold shimmer mixed in, except you can’t really see the shimmer unless you look closely:
The tip of this pencil is really soft, but like the description says, don’t underestimate this eye pencil. I was pretty much floored with how easy it was to use this eye pencil because it glides on so effortlessly. The pencil does smudge a tiny bit (mostly the gold shimmer comes off), unlike the description, but it will last pretty much the whole day unless you happen to cry or something. It is also really resilient to water (I’ve kept the swatch on my hand just to see how long it would last and you can still faintly see the colour there after 2 days).
Here’s how it looks on my eyes:

Eyes Open
Overall, I love this eyeliner pencil! The tropical green isn’t as harsh as jet black, but can still widen your eyes to their full potential. You have to make sure to line closer to your lash line or line your upper waterline though, or else it’ll look sort of misplaced like the picture of my eyes open. I would highly recommend anyone to purchase this product as it is practically a perfect eyeliner! It’s also $1 cheaper than their fab liquid liner if anyone is still in debate.
Score: 5/5
