Souffle, that yummy French cake desert that can be full of delicious fruits and sweetness. In this case though, the souffle refers to an eye shimmer makeup product, and creator Vincent is not French, but Italian. Argento is a boy’s name of Latin origin meaning “silver.” Put all of these terms together and you get Vincent Longo’s Eye Shimmer Souffle in Argento!

The official Vincent Longo site says, “Vincent Longo’s Italian-based research and development team created new Eye Shimmer Souffle by combining a light, velvety texture and soft, shimmering shades to gorgeous effect. Reflecting one of Vincent’s upbeat and airy beauty concepts, Eye Shimmer Souffle literally adds a twinkle to every eye.”

The little circular container comes in a little black box which is the color of mint green on the interior. Twist off the cap of the container and there is a seal “for your protection.” How thoughtful of the manufacturer, as often times these days, products come without a safety seal…Removing the seal with much ease, I found a lovely silver sparkle sensation. It looks like eyeshadow, and I thought the pigments would be much looser than it actually was. Instead, the substance was squishy but not sticky. I could press down on it and it felt nice and soft, leaving fine dusts of silver sparkle on my finger. Guess that’s the souffle element of the product.

Swatch. On the left is without flash, and the right is with flash:

I tried to apply the souffle with a brush, but the textured pigments wouldn’t come out of the little container… so I resulted to using my finger, which worked a million times better. One could actually just apply this souffle and then a dash of eyeliner and mascara to get a soft silver starry gorgeous sparkle look. Be aware of the souffle flaking as you get it from the pot thingie. Spreading the souffle evenly across the eyelid is a bit tough if you gather too much on your finger at once, because the pigments will want to all stick in the same area. Just dab a little at a time and the result will be much more evenly distributed. The more you apply, the more silver-y and outstanding it will look. Your pick.

On the eyelid. Sorry it’s a little hard to see… It’s more apparent than the pic portrays.

Overall, I really like this eye shimmer souffle. It can replace eyeshadow or enhance it by blending and adding an extra sparkle. Go here if you are interested in this eye shimmer souffle. There are other colors you can choose from too!
