This weekend, the Gossip Girl television series had a celebration for reaching 100 episodes. All of the cast was in attendance and looking amazing, as expected. Kelly Rutherford, who plays Lily van der Woodsen on the show was looking especially gorgeous with the chic chignon look that was crafted by celebrity hairstylist Ricardo Rojas. And with tips from the man himself, you can recreate it on your own.

Inspired to create an edgy and downtown chic up-do, Rojas first prepped the hair with lifting and texturizing spray. Then, he rough-dried the locks with his hands, curling the ends up. Once her hair was dry, he boosted body with dry shampoo to create a matted look.

Next, he pulled the top section of the hair hair back and secured with a bobby pin creating a loose ponytail effect. Then he pulled the rest of the hair from the nape of the neck into a ponytail and secured in the middle with a bobby pin.

Molding the hair into a chignon at the middle of the head, he then used his fingers and scrunched the hair to create the edgy feel and loosened it up a bit. Finally, everything was set into place with a few spritzes of hairspray. Voilà!

Not too complicated and it provides a pretty look for the next time you want to do something a bit different with your hair.
