Review: NYX Round Lipstick in Lala

With the colder weather, my bright and sparkly make up was looking a bit mismatched with my toned down wardrobe filled with earthy, neutral colors so I thought it was a great chance to try out a nice mauve toned lipstick, something I’ve never gone near. Enter stage left: NYX Round Lipstick in Lala!

NYX says, “NYX Round Lipstick is our classic lipstick for all-year round. The mineral-based emollient formula offers a beautiful velvet texture, saturated color and it resists wear and smudging. It’s your go-to lipstick. From Pure Nude to Pink Lyric to Chic Red, Round Lipstick is available in a jaw-dropping 144 shades. ”

In person, this color is about 3 shades darker than how it appears in the photos above. Lala is a creme shade with no shimmer and it was really smooth when applied to the lips and has a slightly fruity scent. I really liked how it looks when applied sheer, about the color I was originally expecting. When applied full-on I felt it was just a tad too dark for my current skintone but if you have porcelain skin or if you are a few shades darker than my current skintone I think it would look really chic.

Overall, the NYX lipsticks last me a good 4-5 hours before needing a touchup and the formula feels great on my lips. This is a nice shade for the winter, and if this color is to dark for like it was for myself, you can always apply it sheer or mix it in with another color to adjust it to fit you.
