Review: NYX Pump It Up Lip Plumper in Scarlett

Sometimes you might feel like your lips are looking a little limp or dull and need a little perk me up, which is where NYX Pump It Up Lip Plumper comes in. I got it in the shade Scarlett (named after Scarlett Johanson).

With one swipe of the Pump it Up Lip Pumper, your lips will begin to feel an extreme tingling sensation and the transformation from thin to full will occur instantly!”

Scarlett is a clear-red with no shimmers, I suppose jelly color would be a good way to describe it. The consistency is like any other gloss, right in the middle — not too thick nor too runny. Now for the application of the product… Holy canolies does this irritate like a mother trucker! I felt nothing in the first 5 seconds and thought “alright it’s not going to be too bad”, then at around 10 seconds in I started to feel a little tingling which was expected since this is a lip plumping product. At 15-20 seconds I was shouting for mercy because the stinging sensation was too extreme for me to handle!

I sucked it up and kept it on for a few minutes while I was taking the swatch picture on my lips and then removed it asap right after so unfortunately I can’t say how long the staying power of this gloss is. Oh I guess I should mention that this gloss kind of tastes like pepper too. Even though I didn’t keep the product on for very long I did see more plumpness in my lips especially my lower lip.

Overall if you’re looking for plumper lips and are brave enough for the challenge then I would definitely recommend to try this out, however if you have really sensitive lips you might want to look elsewhere. I personally hate it, but it does what it claims to do and it does it well.
