Introduced earlier, one look at any of the sets in L’Occitane’s cute Holiday Confiserie Collection and it tempting just from the pretty names. Intrigued by all, I was super excited to get the chance to see if the Délice des Fruites would live up to its name of being a lemon and clementine scent. And what better way to do so than with a Sweet Candle from the line.
As a refresher, the line is described to be infused with the fragrant and delicious aromas that arise when sun-drenched citrus fruits are blended with sugar in copper pans in a small village in the south of France. Though lemon and clementine essential oils are also added for a scent that already seems really nice just from the description.
Being a candle, it’s not the usual “beauty product,” though I think just bring in a room that has been scented by one can be really soothing and at least put you in a relaxed state that your skin and mood can enjoy.
Packaged in a cute tin, I like that it’s a nicely convenient size. Within maybe 20 minutes or so, my room is nicely covered in the Délice des Fruites scent and I just want to eat it up…or take a catnap. Either works.
The scent itself is actually super nice. Reading about how it was mainly citrus fruits, I had expected something more on the refreshing side, sort of more lemony. Though I was pleasantly surprised to find that L’Occitane managed to make the clementine and lemon aromas have a sweet scent that is not too harsh.
While you do get the whiff of lemon, it’s more so clementine that comes through, but in a candy sense where it just smells sweet and makes you want to eat the air or inhale deeply as an alternative. I really love it and it works really well to warm you up even as it’s cold outside.
Overall: Amazing scent and I would assume that the other items in the same aroma line will give off the same delicious smell. For those that like a really warm, citrus candy scent that is sweet but subtle in its approach to surrounding you, I’d definitely recommend this candle. Plus it’s a nice alternative if you need a break from too many florals in your life.
Score: 5/5
