According to WWD, for the first 10 months of this year, two cosmetics were hot, hot, hot: nail polish and lipstick.

Nail sales were up 59% from the same time a year ago and 50% in dollars for nail enamel and top/base coats. Lipstick also proved to be a hot commodity, scoring a jump of 12%, though lip gloss and lip liners didn’t fare too well. Joining these two was eye shadow palettes.
