Olivia Wilde, beautfiul actress and super model, has admitted to loving to play up her eyes. She says, “I never had beautiful, luscious lips; that was never my defining characteristic. I focus more on playing with my eye makeup, I’ve always enjoyed it.” This makes sense as she was named Revlon’s most recent brand ambassador, alongside Emma Stone. She has also received the honor of being named the face of Revlon’s ColorStay Eyeshadow Quads as well as the PhotoReady 3D Volume Mascara campaigns.
Wilde, who is co-starring with Jason Bateman in an upcoming comedy, “The Longest Week,” visited New York earlier this week to talk about the partnership with Revlon and her approach to personal beauty. She has most definitely learned a few things from on-set professionals, so she looks up to sixties icons when it’s regarding her cat-eye liner. “French New Wave film stars like Anna Karina — I always really loved that aesthetic. You always gravitate toward things that naturally sort of fit your face.” The lady clearly knows what she’s doing as she is “now confident enough with eye makeup that I can have a little mirror and throw on eyeliner in the back of a cab.”
Despite mastering shadows, mascara and liners, Wilde admits that she still doesn’t go wild with the lipstick. “A strong eye and a strong lip is hard for my face. I can go tranny really fast. It’s true, because I have a really strong jaw. So for me, I just have to be cognizant of the way that it transforms my face.”
She may be brilliant now, but she states that she wasn’t always sure of what looked best. “I was experimental as a kid, I had every different color hair. I had horrible, horrible ideas of what was cool, but then you learn and you play. I thank God Facebook didn’t exist then.”
She even got quite specific about a 90s trend that she very quickly outgrew. She said, “I plucked off all my eyebrows in school! For seven years, I haven’t touched my eyebrows. I mean, I don’t let anyone near them with a tweezer.”
