My busy-bee schedule lately makes me really lazy at night to go through layering all the creams and things that I should. (So bad, I know.) So in getting the chance to try out the Bio-Performance Advanced Super Revitalizing Cream from Shiseido, I wondered if it could be my do-all to effectively nourish and rejuvenate my face so that I don’t look so dead in the morning after a full day and night of work and running around.

Described to “extend the look of youth by preventing the first stages of line formation,” Shisedo’s patent-pending Bio-Revitalizing Complex is suppose to reinforce your skin’s elastic fibers, which are apparently the key to promoting your skin’s ability to maintain its resilience and firmness. Very promising and considering I liked the last Shiseido product I tried, I had slightly high hopes for this.

Results: Though I think it’s just suppose to be a regular cream that you can use anytime of the day as part of your skincare and makeup routine, I like to really test out new ones by wearing them alone after cleansing my face and then sleeping in it.

For this one, I was delighted that while it had a very hydrating formula, with how rich it was, the texture of the cream itself wasn’t super heavy at all. Though it did have some weight, it was easy to apply and seemed to absorb into my skin pretty quickly, though you can feel a bit of it sitting on top of your skin.

After as much sleep as I could get before my alarm rang, I woke up to a face that looked…really good. Usually my skin gets a bit red in the morning, but I was extremely delighted to see that my skin was just clear and a bright sort of pale. Almost a glow, if you will.

The think I was most happy about was that my skin didn’t look dry at all, so it seems as though it was able to live up its hydrating claims really well. As for the line formation prevention, I can definitely say that I think with continued use that it can deliver this not-tired and bright look to my skin, I won’t look like my age for a while. Which never ends up too bad.

Scent: The same sort of milky scent that every Shiseido product seems to have lingering. It’s very reminiscent of the types of beauty creams that you might have smelled from your mom, at least mine tended to use these a lot. Though for me, I’m not that bothered by it, since it’s slightly a comforting smell for not being heavily perfumed.

Overall: I like that you don’t really need too much of the product to satisfactorily cover your face, which ends up pretty good since even for the smallest 1.7oz ($75) size, it ends up a touch pricey. Though in remembering that it’s from a major brand name in skincare, the quality for the price matches and it makes the bigger 2.6oz ($95) version more tempting to pick up.

But overall, since it delivers on what it’s suppose to do, I really love it as something that I can use for those don’t-want-to-deal-with-multiple-skin-products to hydrate my skin at night and be sure that I’ll wake up in the morning with my skin ready for the day.

Score: 5/5
