If you’ve been following the beauty scene on YouTube, I’m pretty sure you’ve heard practically every single guru going crazy over the new Colorburst Lip Butters from Revlon. Having just finished the last little bit of my tube of my go-to everyday lipstick, I figured it was the perfect chance to give these babies a try.

I went to Rite-Aid with my friend to go get a scoop of pistachio ice cream but we went to go check out the makeup aisle first. I was pretty happy to find that the display wasn’t completely wiped out so I actually had a pretty wide variety of shades to choose from, I had a difficult time narrowing down the colors I was actually going to buy because they were all so freaking pretty. In the end I decided to get Sweet Tart and Tutti Frutti, and my friend gifted me Candy Apple (thanks Heidi!).

L to R: Sweet Tart, Candy Apple, Tutti Frutti

All three shades are about medium opacity which can be built up for a more opaque color. The texture is like the perfect medium between a lip balm/treatment and a full color lipstick. They feel very moisturizing and has a nice subtle sheen that makes your lips look pretty and perky. These Lip butters have no scent, nor taste to them which many people will appreciate…although with all these yummy names I was hoping that they would smell and taste just as delicious. The staying power is a little bit less than other lip products, about 2.5 hours or so but I personally don’t mind it.

Top: Tutti Frutti
Middle: Sweet Tart
Bottom: Candy Apple

The first color I chose was the Tutti Frutti because for some reason peach/orange colors tend to work best on me and this one makes a great neutral everyday lip for me. I was a little hesitant about Sweet Tart at first but I’m absolutely glad I chose it! I always wanted to find that perfect shade of Barbie pink but the ones I’ve tried in the past would make me look absolutely horrid and would clash with my skintone. This one turned out to be the perfect neutral pink for medium/olive skintones. Last but not least is Candy Apple which is a warm red shade with a hint of orange, I think this is a great red to try if you’re a little hesitant about bold lip colors. You can start off with a sheer layer and work your way up to the bold and beautiful red.

Overall I have to say that this might be my new favorite lip product. I love the formulation, the colors are beautiful, they leave my lips feeling great afterwards. I can totally understand the hype over these now. I definitely want to pick up some more colors, Peach Parfait and Lollipop are two definite ones on my list. Have you tried the Revlon Lip Butters yet? and if so which is your favorite color?

Score: 5/5

Disclaimer: These Revlon Lip Butters are something I threw money at. This review is purely my opinion.
