Venom usually refers to something that is poisonous and often deadly; yet in this case, it is the name of a lip gloss. I have shown intrest in the Venom Flash products by DuWop for some time, and now I have the privilege to try out their Spicy Gloss with Silver Shimmer!

The full sized lip venom is called Vemon Flash, which comes in gold or silver. Being the lover of all things silvery, I naturally chose the latter. Here is what the official DuWop site has to say about it:

DuWop’s Venom Flash is the same formula as Lip Venom, spiked with subtle gold (warm) or silver (cool) shimmer. Once applied to your lips, Venom Flash reflects the light, giving them extra sheen for the fullest, flashiest lips.

The same tingly formula from Lip Venom is used as a base in Venom Flash, to which we added tiny particles of mica*. Mica* is a mineral known for its beautiful pearly shine, and combined with the Lip Venom formula, gives lips a shimmery luster.

I got a mini mini tube of gloss. By that, I mean it’s super small, like the size of my pinky, almost. 1.5 mL/0.05 fl oz. of really light pink with silver shiny particles, to be more exact (gotta love the sparkles). Nevertheless, it’s adorable, and I never have completely used up a lip gloss in my life so the tiny size is good for me. Stick it in a pocket or a small bag to have it on the go for convenience.

Twisting open the silver toned cap, I smelled a very pleasant spicy scent, almost like… cinnamon. It perked up my alertness with the boldness, yet wasn’t overwhelming. A velvety wand contained gloss that looked pretty clear. I guess that’s the color when not compact in a larger amount of the lip gloss substance. I applied it on my lips, feeling a tingle which then grew stronger after a few minutes. It was not a painful sensation, but a refreshing one. In fact, it lasted a good two hours before wearing off. The gloss and the plumpiness did not disappear with the tingle effect, though. The soft glossy shine was still there. As for the silver shimmer, the particles are so small that one can probably not tell that they existed in the formula when applied onto the lips. It does play a part in helping the shine come across though.

Swatch:

Overall, I really like this venom (saying it this way feels odd). My sensitive lips were able to take the tingle effect without it being harsh while refreshing, moisturizing and plumping the lips at the same time. Would I buy this product? Maybe if I manage to run out of lip products.
