Do you ever cringe at the price of those really expensive facials that you know will give you glowing skin? Well, there’s an alternative way to get what you want for a lot cheaper. Introducing Masqueology, paper facial masks that currently are trend that is highly popular all over Korea and the rest of Asia.
Set to hit the States in March, these masks will be exclusively sold at Sephora, and have a price tag of $24 for a pack of 3 masks–that’s $8 a mask, which is a lot cheaper than your usual facial treatment.
Miles Lichterman, chief operating officer of Beauty Architects, who is bringing this product to the US, says that the target market is time-poor consumers who don’t have enough time to spend at the salon.
He told WWD:
‘In Asia, facial masks are a dime store product. In our market, they exist, but they have been hidden.’
Like lipstick and nail polish, which are products that perform quite well in times of recession, paper facial masks are expected to do the same.
Have you already used paper masks before? I know I already do but I guess the Western side of the world really hasn’t gotten into it yet since I only find them in Asian stores.
