Fact: Water is good for your body. NARS Makeup Removing Water, isn’t the drinking-kind but it does your face just as well as drinking-water does your body. Released this month, NARS Makeup Removing Water is a soap-free, oil-free and alcohol-free makeup remover. With a water-based formula infused with cucumber, chamomile and hyaluronic acid, it removes makeup and is said to leave the skin feeling soft, soothed and refreshed without any residue. With that said, I recently gave this product a go.

Packaging (pictured above)
As the case of all NARS product, the NARS Makeup Removing Water comes in a sleek plastic bottle with the signature matte black cap. The product is dispensed via a spout just like any other makeup removing product. The bottle holds about 6.7 fl. oz. which is quite a lot of product considering you don’t need a lot to use.

Scent/Texture
Makeup Removing Water is fragrance-free just like water. As you can see above, it looks like water — but don’t drink it.

Directions
Super easy and straightforward. Saturate a cotton pad and gently smooth it over your face. Follow up with a cleanser if you’re done with makeup for the day, or put on more. The Makeup Removing Water makes life easy like that.

Overall Performance
I was quite pleased with the Makeup Removing Water performance for face makeup. Removing eyeliner with the Makeup Removing Water took a bit of elbow grease, but given that there is a NARS makeup remover specifically for eye makeup, I wasn’t expecting any miracles. For anyone thinking they could get away with owning just the Makeup Removing Water for your entire face, you’ll be met with a bit of difficulty. (But it still does the job.) Below is a photo of my arm with with a dab of foundation, waterproof eyeshadow and liquid eyeliner:

And here is my arm with about two swipes of a cotton pad saturated with the Makeup Removing Water:

As you can see, there’s still a bit of eyeliner residue left behind, but everything else was wiped clean. Not too bad.

Overall, NARS Makeup Removing Water does a great job at removing face makeup — liquid eyeliner not so much. It seems that eye makeup removal is a job best left for NARS Eye Makeup Remover. I loved that it left my face feeling pretty fresh, relaxed and clean. I suspect that this is due to the cucumber and the chamomile in the water. Hyaluronic acid among the ingredients is definitely an added plus also! The Makeup Removing Water retails at a reasonable $28 and can be purchased at www.narscosmetics.com
