With the release of NARS Spring 2012 collection coming around soon, I was eager to get my hands on the NARS Paramaribo Eyeshadow Duo. If you happen to be a geography buff, you’d know that Paramaribo is the largest city in Suriname. Drawing inspiration from this tropical city in South America, the Paramaribo Eyeshadow Duo consists of a metallic bronze and brass shades. Brass and bronze aren’t typically colors that come to mind when Spring is concerned but you can always count on NARS for putting a fresh beauty spin on the seasons.
Packaging
Parmaribo’s packaging isn’t any different from your typical NARS Eyeshadow duo. Both shades come in a matte black sleek compact that’s perfect on-the-go or at home.
Swatches
Although specific names aren’t assigned to the shades in the Paramaribo Eyeshadow duo, it’s pretty clear that the ‘brass’ shade is on the left and the ‘bronze’ shade is on the ‘right.’ Each shade can be worn separately or together. I highly recommend the brass color all over your lid with the bronze for contouring. Here’s what it looks like on:
As per usual, here’s a full face shot:
Pigmentation
Both shades are highly pigmented as expected of NARS. I loved that it doesn’t take too much of the product to achieve the desired effect. While NARS tends to be on the pricier side, the fact that the colors are so pigmented justifies the splurge. This duo will last at least a year for me.
Overall Performance
Given a decent eyeshadow base (I use Urban Decay Primer Potion), the NARS Paramaribo Eyeshadow Duo will last you all day long. Although this eyeshadow duo is part of the Spring 2012 collection, I wouldn’t wait until the Spring to bust it out. Both shades are pretty neutral, not too bright and not too bold. It’ll look good on anyone and make it easy to transition from Winter to the Spring. The NARS Spring 2012 Collection will be available Jan. 15 at www.narscosmetics.com.
Score: 5/5
