The Hunger Games is super anticipated, not only for the cast, awesome plot, sick Capitol features, but also the exciting hair (and skin) colors!

Joico Guest Artist and Celebrity Stylist Cherry Petenbrink were the super duper leading hair color designer for the entire film - from Katniss’ brown hair to Effie’s colorful color choices. As we all Hunger Games fans know, the Capitol in the book has some pretty bizarre and somewhat stylish styles, and they’re all shown under the hands of the stylists.

Patenbrink was told that the Capitol looks are to be “sophisticated, couture and edgy,” which collaborating with Costume Designer Judianna Makovsky and Linda Flowers, they came up with more than 500 color designs for the extras in the film, “When you work with these colors, it’s a challenge to make them look trendsetting and visionary and not clown-like,” says Petenbrink.

She predicts that the hair styles will have some strong influence on the film. I completely believe in her, though it would take awhile to get used to a high school filled with Capitol-styled people.
