Shiseido products are some of my favorite skin care “miracles,” but I don’t even know what benefits the skin reaps from individual products half of the time. The Elixir Vitalizing Emulsion III had a cool name, so I went with that. Yes, I actually just looked at the name and decided I wanted to give it a go.

I had a little difficulty finding a description for this Elixir, and it is no longer on the official Shiseido website. Here is what BeautyPeeks.com says: “Gives skin suppleness, normal to dry skin. Helps to whiten skin and diminish dark spots.”

Dark spots. Dark spots! Maybe my dark spots can be rescued with this elixir. It sounds so magical, like it’s a potion of some sort that will make me… beautiful after one use.

Opening the sample sized circular container (it’s so cute), I saw a cream colored formula. I sniffed it. Smells like Shiseido’s scent. I dabbed a finger into the substance. Oooh, it’s soft. I applied it onto dry spots on my face and my wonderfully plethora of dark spots, loving the extremely smooth and light feel of the cream. And may I mention I did this before I went to sleep for about a week straight. No, I did not sleep for a week straight; I went through this routine of putting the elixir on for seven days.

My dark spots are from being out in the sun with pale Asian skin that hates sunlight! They are not birth marks or moles, etc. I think the dark spots have gotten lighter looking in color. Or, I could just be hallucinating, but I’m pretty sure I’m not. They haven’t completely gone away, but maybe with time and enough usage… If you have dark spots that you are tired of covering foundation or BB cream with, this elixir might be able to help a bit! This elixir is also good for softening up dry parts of your skin and evening some color out. As for whiteness effects, I cant really tell with my skin, haha.
