I’ve been wanting to venture out and explore different eyeshadow colors because I’ve been kind of stuck to using the same 4 neutral colors for a few weeks now, and since I haven’t played around with purple colors I thought it would be a great chance to try out Urban Decay eyeshadow in the color Romp.

Sephora says, “The shadow is loaded with color, with very few binders (the stuff that holds shadow together), resulting in beautiful color that blends easily and lasts. Lots of finishes to suit your mood: sparkle, shimmer, duochrome or metallic.”

Romp is a very dark purple with violet and navy shimmer. The casing it comes in looks pretty cool because it is made to look similar to a token, it even says “good for one fare” on the lid. I also like that the edges are textured which makes it really easy to open and close.

Here it is swatched on my hand, due to the flash it appears much lighter than it actually is. This is a really good and pigmented color to use on the crease for some added definition or to use overall as a wash of color to help blend in darker grey and black colors for a smokey eye effect with a hint of purple. I had no problems blending this color out and the application was smooth.

Overall, if you’re looking for a nice smokey eyeshadow, I would definitely recommend Romp because it has a good blend to work well with both warm and cool skintones, but it isn’t the most unique color out there.

If you’d like to try this out for yourself, you can check it out here.
