“Decay,” such a lovely word. Stick an “urban” in front of it and it sounds even better (no, not really)! In the case of Urban Decay Cosmetics, one is not really “Skimp”ing her money on this product. Hmm, quite the opposite of the name of the shade I tried out, Skimp, no?

Urban Decay’s official site says, “An industry favorite and our best-selling product! Available in over 50 shades, our pigment-rich shadows are versatile, blendable, beautiful.
This is the product we were born to make - our best-seller! Professionals, celebrities, and makeup junkies swoon for our wide array of shades. Each one is pigment-rich: we load the shadow with color, and add very few binders (the stuff that holds shadow together), resulting in beautiful color that blends easily and lasts. Lots of finishes to suit your mood: sparkle, shimmer, duotone or un-sparkly satin.

Our subway token compact comes complete with a window (see your shade without opening), and snaps shut with one hand - no more lost lids.”

The container of the eyeshadow has the design resembling a token on the outside. “Good for one fare” is printed along the side. In the middle, you can see what color the eyeshadow is. You can easily open the attached cover and then snap it shut when not in use. A neutral, peach-yellow, vanilla shimmer that looks like skin tone eyeshadow awaits you inside the container, finely pigmented and easily spreadable with fingers or an applicator brush of some sort.

Swatch (yes, it’s so close to my skin tone you can only see traces of the shimmer):

The color is very light and blends in well with my skin tone, giving off a natural shimmery effect. The shimmer isn’t overwhelming on my eyelid; rather, it enhances the brightness around my eyes and highlights it. No flaking or creasing or irritation= yay! The effect lasts for a good amount of hours. Apply primer or eyeshadow base for an even richer result. I recommend this color if you like the natural and shimmery look.

If interested, the retail price for an Urban Decay eyeshadow is $17. Sure, you might have to throw in several more bucks than usual, but the quality is worth it. The particular color Skimp seems to be harder to find than some other colors, but you can purchase here.
