Oprah’s favorite, you say? There really are a lot of colors to choose from. I joked to my wide-eyed sister that I could use solely that eyeshadow palette for the rest of my life without other ones. However, the palette is definitely not worth stuffing into a bag to carry around (unless you are going to a performance and need to do touchups and such for people).
Included in the clear-covered palette that easily opens and snaps shut are 100 eyeshadow colors, a mirror attached to the inside of the cover, and 2 double-sided eyeshadow applicators that are stored on either sides of the mirror. Quite convenient, I must say, though the clear plastic film protector taped to the mirror to prevent particles of eyeshadow from getting into it might be a bit of a hassle.
Below, I have swatched the top row of the palette (doing the whole thing would take too long), and underneath those the very bottom row of the palette for contrast.
The medium and lighter colors were hard to get to show clearly compared to the dark ones. As for the pigmentation, it is okay, but not exceptionally wonderful or easy to apply with results that match the shade in the palette. It is on the dry, powdery side rather than smooth and “creamy,” but a few more strokes of the shade will help produce the needed color. Applying an eyeshadow base or primer beforehand is suggested for better results and longer lifespan. Without it, the color fades after a few hours or so.
With all these colors, you can experiment blending techniques, follow along with a lot of youtube eye makeup tutorials, and create your own looks! For someone who isn’t a big fan of eyeshadow to begin with, this might be a bit too much. If you want bold and bright colors, you might have to work at it a little to produce it with this palette. Others will wow and be jealous of this beautiful product you own, hehe.
To purchase, go here! It’s only $10 right now from the original $20, an awesome deal.
