Ah yes, winter. I do love winter as it makes it really easy for me to not have super oily skin, but unfortunately, that means my skin definitely needs a lot of moisture. Since foundations are quite heavy and I’m not the biggest fan of using heavier products in the winter, I decided I needed something a lot lighter. Here’s where Stila’s Illuminating Tinter Moisturizer comes in. Not only is it going to provide your skin with lots of moisture, it’ll also help you even your skintone out a little bit while giving you a dewy look. I have the shade ‘Shade 02‘ if you were wondering.
Here’s what Stila says about their Illuminating Tinted Moisturizer:
Skin instantly looks softer and younger with this handy multi-tasker. It delivers a hint of sheer coverage, subtle shimmer, SPF 15 and added moisture in one effortless application. Perfect for everyday use, the silky formula blends beautifully for a pretty, luminous look.
When I first squeezed it out on my hand, I noticed a really, really, peachy pink colour and my first reaction was: is this the right product/shade? Thankfully, after blending it into my hand, the colour matched perfectly and I was pretty happy. Applying it over my face, I received a lot of moisture–which also means lots of shine as well. This product has pretty sheer coverage, so you’re going to have to cover up your dark circles and imperfections with another concealer of your choice–still lighter than foundation though!
Here’s what it looks on me:
My flawless skin before the tinted moisturizer (please excuse the tiredness, I’m currently in exam mode)
My skin after the tinted moisturizer
All in all, you can’t really see much of a difference in the two pictures, yes, my skin tone evened out a little and I definitely look more glowing, but it doesn’t really provide much coverage. You could also try mixing some of this with your foundation of BB Cream if you want that glowing effect but a lot more coverage. I’d also suggest mattifying your face with some pressed powder or translucent powder before putting on any other makeup as it will cause it to smudge and run.
To conclude, I do love the product and how light it feels on my skin. It would be excellent for those winter days where I have absolutely no acne on my face (which happens once in a while) but it’ll definitely be a loved product. When I don’t have those days, some concealer will do and I’ll be out of the door in a jiffy!
Score: 4/5
