I grew up listening to a lot of punk music from bands such as Hedley and Simple Plan so when I received the opportunity to try out Popbeauty’s Pretty Punk Eyeshadow Palette, I was curious to see if it could live up to my love for punk music.

Inside the small eyeshadow palette is a handy dandy mirror and 12 eyeshadows, each about a pinky’s width wide.

These colours are all pretty dark, except for the last four, and most of them are shimmer eyeshadows. There is a dark matte eyeshadow, the emerald coloured one, but the rest are shimmer.

Here’s how popbeauty describes their product:

Lustrous raven shades creates a suit-all smoldering flicker that just can’t help but make those eyes of yours really POP! This is your rocking route to true POP perfection, transforming your peepers in new and exciting ways. Get ready to rock’n’roll!

Here’s a swatch of all the colours on my arm:

The shades are actually quite pigmented when I try to swatch them on my fingers, but they don’t actually show up very well from the finger-arm transfer. You have to also beware of the fact that the eyeshadows are quite chalky and will have some fall outs.

There are steps at the back of the packaging to tell you how to use the palette. The first four are formulated to be liners, the middle four are to be used over your liner to make your eyes pop, and the last four are to be used all over your eyelid and crease. The lightest shade is to highlight your browbone.

After experimenting a bit with the eyeshadows and attempting to use different combinations, I am quite pleased with this palette! It gives you the right colours to match around with and practically ever look that you create with it looks amazing! The only thing I don’t like about this is the chalky-ness of the eyeshadow, but that can be looked over. A plus with this eyeshadow is that it’s small enough to dump into your purse for touch-ups on the go.

Score: 4/5

the colours are nice! pretty pastels smile

i do like the colors :D i would get this~!

The colors looks okay! a little bit too dark to my taste

I kinda like the case with the mirror there, makes it very handy.. the colours are a bit punk-y type and gives off a dark aura about them, which is nice smile
And I actually like that they give instructions on how to use the product.
The price is reasonable ~ good review!

The colours look nice but I guess there’s too little choice of colours. Only the four colours in the middle attracted my attention, the rest are pretty dark.
I guess that is why it’s named ‘Pretty Punk’ Eyeshadow.
The price is reasonable I must say.
