As the star of Lancome’s Roseraie Des Delices Spring 2012 collection, Lancome’s La Roseraie Illuminating Powder is an exquisitely packaged multi-color powder blush embossed with a gorgeous rose. So gorgeous, that it pained me to actually dip a brush into it for fear of ruining the rose. Life, why are you so hard? On to the review, shall we:
Packaging
This is what I am talking about when I said I thought it was difficult to touch La Roseraie Illuminating Powder — look how gorgeous it is, inside and out:
The compact as you can see is your traditional Lancome mirror-ed compact, decorated with the iconic Lancome Rose in wreath formation around the words, “La Roseraie.” The compact holds 11g of the La Roseraie Illuminating Powder, which is also about an inch and a half in diameter. If I were to use La Roseraie Illuminating Powder as blush alone, I’m guessing that it would take me at least a year of moderate use.
Color/Texture
Super soft and smooth — an overall treat for your skin, whether you use it all over or just as blush. Here it is swatched on my arm:
As the name suggests, La Roseraie is a soft rose illuminating powder. The genius in this compact is that the rose part of La Roseraie is perfect as an everyday blush. When swirled together (as shown above in the swatch) you get a fabulous illuminating powder great to bring brightness to typically dull parts of your face. Although the non-rose part of La Roseraie is decked with silver sparkles, I wouldn’t be too concerned — the result is a beauty rosy glow that’s not too over-the-top.
Performance
Overall, I found Lancome’s La Roseraie’s Illuminating Powder to be a great versatile product as both an everyday blush or illuminator/highlighter. It may be pricey at $42 USD, but I would justify the purchase with the fact that it’s basically 2 products in 1. It is definitely a must-have for the Spring!
