We had gotten a look at Soap & Glory’s latest new products earlier, all of which looked very promising, if I do say so myself. With that, I got the chance to try out their Make Yourself Youthful Eye Cream, which hopefully would be the salvation to keeping my eyes alive for the quarter of school that I have left. Or at least to look pretty for when the Spring sun comes out again.
One of the first things that caught my delighted attention was their packaging. The retro-esque model didn’t really present much about this eye cream, but…it’s cute. Plus, it seems like there’s probably some underlying message like: “Use me and become super-awesome-glam like this chick.” Or maybe it was the pink and silver that drew me in…same thing…
Described as an anti-aging eye cream for “fresher, brighter, and tighter skin in the eye area,” it was definitely appealing to use. Mainly I was concerned if it could help combat the slight dryness I was feeling around my eyes and those pesky panda eyes that no sleep ever seems to help lessen (#studentproblems).
Formula: From the swatch, you can see that it’s pretty moisture-filled, though thankfully, it isn’t inconveniently too liquid-y that I would be concerned that it might get into my eyes and irritate them.
Instead, it was very smooth and stays where you place it. The directions say to blend it in by tapping it around your eye area with your fingertips. Easy-peasy and I noticed that it absorbed into my eye area skin fairy quickly.
No scent to pick up, since you only end up using a smidgen-sized amount anyway, but the formula itself feels really gently (super nice since it’s going on such a delicate area). Though do take note that a full pump of the applicator seemed to put out way more than I needed to comfortably cover both my eyes, so I stuck to doing a half-pump.
Results: After using it every night and day for a good week, I have to say that I do see the inklings of change. At the very least, my eyes don’t reflect the deprived amount of sleep I get for part of the week - which is wonderful.
Though the brightening and tightening aspects are subtle in their appearances, which I don’t hold it against it too much, just because time is usually needed to really see any results. But for the short-term, I’m pleased that it’s been hydrating my under-eye area really well.
Overall: Props that, if anything, the Make Yourself Youthful Eye Cream has become a welcome addition to the moisturizing step of my beauty routine. I really like that it’s super gentle and feels to be working its magic the more I use it.
And for those of you that want to get a head start for being preventive and keeping your eyes as “youthful” as you can, it would definitely be smart to invest in a separate moisturizer/cream for your eyes vs. being slightly lazy (guilty) and covering your entire face with the same face moisturizer.
