With such gloomy weather happening recently, one of the easiest ways to combat that is to have something pretty to look at. And what’s easier than painting your nails? Getting the chance to try out Saint Germain Paris’s Nail Polish, it seemed to intrigue me from its elegant-looking bottles. Now let’s see if it can perform as well as it looks.
Shade: Starting off with Taupe, the shade is a pretty true representation of this grayish-brown color. Definitely a neutral that is easy to match with anything. Compared to the last taupe-ish color I reviewed, this one is definitely a bit more paler and gray-tone in comparison. Though I sort of like it for that, since gray is one of my favorite colors.
Purple Silver caught my attention right from the name, sounding like a mystical dragon in space or something. Maybe prompted by my imagination, the color ended up reminding me of a galaxy when I applied it on. A very shiny and metallic lilac purple that was super pretty to look at. Definitely my favorite between the two - I mean, how can you look away? Gorgeous.
Formula + Survival: No problems in application, it went on very smooth and silky, which I liked. Opacity-wise, you could definitely get away with just one coat, though I put on two via the description and to test its longevity.
On that note, it’s staying power was one of the key things that I really enjoyed about this polish. Without any topcoat, it satisfyingly stayed unchipped for 5 days. Though of course by the end that last day, it was starting to wear right at the tips from general use, but still, I was super impressed that it prettily stayed whole for so long.
Overall: Love! Definitely one of my new favorite brands for polish. Everything from the color to the survival was A+ and design-wise for the bottle, it looks a lot more expensive than it actually is. Highly recommended.
And considering it’s currently on sale via their website for $3.16 (original $3.95 - which isn’t that bad either), it’s super affordable to pick up one or a few.
