I’m not necessarily a cat person, but when it comes to Tony Moly’s Cat’s Wink Crazy Tints…I can make exceptions. For one, the ‘crazy’ in Crazy Tint references the fact that the tint is some wild color (green, yellow or blue), but once applied the tint reacts to your skin’s pH level and changes to a tint that’s most suitable to your skin tone. Essentially, you could never go wrong with any of the tints — it all depends on whether you want your tint to look red, orange or pink. Since I’ve already tried a blue tint before, I opted for Crazy Green (for a red tint).
Admittedly I’m not the biggest fan of cats. There, I said it. I am however, really taken by the design of the Crazy Tint tube. The tip of the cap is in the shape of a cat, ears and all! With the tube being sleek and black, the cuteness of it is very understated. You can be 27 like myself and not fear looking ridiculous whipping out a cat-shaped tube of lip tint. At the same time, I also like that the base of the tube is green. It’s easy to psych your friends out:
“Hey girl, I totally forgot my lipstick at home. Got any lipstick on you?”
“Sure! Try this, green lipstick is all the rage this season!”
Then your friend will be like Jimmy Fallon and Channing Tatum on the Ew! show and be all, “Ew!”
Or you can be nice and tell your friend that the lip stick you have actually isn’t green lipstick but a green lip tint that reacts to your pH level and changes to a color that suits your skin tone. Whatever, I’m not going to judge.
Green apple that doesn’t linger on your lips for too long. Yay!
The tint is unique in that its texture is that of a buttery lip balm that’s not too heavy.
Crazy Green on the surface is indeed a green. Once applied, it goes on clear then seconds later reacts to your pH level and turns into the best red tint that matches your skin tone. This is what it looks like when I first applied it, half across my lips:
For those looking to get into lipstick but aren’t willing to take the full plunge, the Tony Moly Cat’s Wink Crazy Tint is a great option. It moisturizes and feels buttery on the lips but isn’t too heavy, kind of like those new lipgloss/lipstick hybrid products out there. I found that it kept my lips moist for a good 3 hours. The color however, stays for at least 8 hours! I also managed to take a shower and the color was still there. The glossiness and the moisture was gone, but the color remained. Overall, two thumbs up from me!
You can currently get it at KpopHeaven for $11 USD!
