It’s Skin’s Black Head Clear Kit is a set of 3 of their black head fighting, oil controling, pore tightening products. Namely the Black Head Heating Gel, Black Head Clear Nose Pack and Black Head Clear Pore Tightening Cream. Skincare seems to occur in threes but I’ve never really come across products that specifically target the nose area aside from pore strips. There’s always a first time for everything right?
If you’re all about value, this kit puts together 3 of It’s Skin’s Black Head Clear products following a 3-step system into one box. The contents of the kit include the Black Head Heating Gel (Step 1) 30 ml, Black Head Clear Nose Pack (Step 2) 40ml and the Black Head Clear Pore Tightening Cream (Step 3) 30 ml. Each of the products are packaged into 2 or 3 inch tubes with applicator tips. The tubes are a little bit bigger than travel-sized products or deluxe sample items. If you’re not willing to take the plunge and buy the full-sized versions, this kit is great for offering you a taste of the Black Head Clear Kit system.
Initially I thought that the contents of the bottles was a small amount but after a few applications, I’ve discovered that it’s a bit hard to make a dent in each product. Since you only need it for your nose (and other areas of your skin with large pores), you don’t need a whole lot.
Not fluent in Korean? Not to worry, there’s English:
The steps in order from L-R: Black Head Heating Gel, Black Head Clear Nose Pack and Black Head Clear Pore Tightening
Following the directions in English (above) is super easy. You might look at Step 1 and think that massaging your nose for 5 minutes might be a bit much and it’s true. I’ve massaged my nose for that long and for half as long and I’ve discovered that it didn’t really affect the next step. The Black Head Heating Gel is intended to lubricate the pores and loosen the dirt. A tip I would suggest is that you apply a little pressure on your pores so that the dirt comes up a bit. It makes it easier for the Black Head Clear Nose Pack to do its job of lifting it out of your pores.
By far the funnest step! The mask is a gray fine mud-like peel-off mask. You apply the mask to your nose (or other large pored areas) and wait for it to harden. Once it hardens, peel it off. I only say the peeling was fun because as you peel the pack off, you can see your blackheads lift from your pores. Do I have a weird sense of fun?
Another tip I figured out is that you need to really be liberal about the pack. If you layer it on too thinly it’s super tough to peel off and you end up hanging out in the bathroom for 10 minutes trying to remove super tiny strips of pack off your nose. On top of that, it doesn’t really do its job of lifting blackheads. However when you really generous about how much you put on your nose, the pack peels off easily and you can witness your own blackheads get sucked out of your pores.
The easiest step — just apply over the area that you had the mask on. It does the job of tightening your pores. Only temporarily of course — your large pores are all thanks to genetics. Can’t change your genes, of course.
Hands down, this has been the most I’ve ever done for my nose. Typically, a Biore pore strip (or any other pore strip) would have you press on and take off. Not this kit. First you have to massage your nose, then put on a mask and follow up with a cream. In other words, this kit is a total spa day for your nose. True, it’s a bit more work than a pore strip but over the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that it’s improved the general appearance of my nose. If you’re not used to doing this much for your skin, you might not really love this kit.
Something else to note is that it’s not going to remove blackheads that are really embedded deep in your skin. Otherwise, I’d say we’d have a black head care game changer on our hands and we’d put some estheticians out of work. With that said, this kit works best on black heads that are closer to the surface of your skin — the lighter colored black heads.
Overall, I think it’s a great effective kit with great value. Just be wary some of you who are more accustomed to the black head strip method — this kit has two other steps for you and will take slightly more time than just a pore strip.
