As part of Etude House’s AC Clinic line, the AC Clinic Daily Gel Lotion is a moisturizer designed for those with acne or as they call it, ‘troubled skin.’ Being someone who has dealt with acne and oily skin her whole life, I wasn’t about to turn down the opportunity to review a skincare product addressing my skincare concerns.
According to Etude House, the AC Clinic Daily Gel Lotion is formulated with salicylic acid and hinoki cypress extract. It clarifies and soothes troubled skin while maintaining oil/moisture balance without aggravation. It’s also non-comedogenic and will not produce or irritate acne.
You get about 150ml in a green glass bottle that’s about 6 inches high. It’s a lot of product given that you only need a small amount to apply to your face. Although the glass bottle is fancy, there’s nothing fancy about how you dispense the product into your hand. The bottle opening is just a standard bottle opening. You dispense the product pretty much how you would ketchup in an old glass ketchup bottle.
While the glass bottle is a pretty touch to my bathroom, I’m not a fan of how heavy it feels and of the idea that I could drop the bottle pretty easily. I’m also not a big fan of how it comes out like ketchup. You only need a little bit, but you still have to smack the bottle tip against your palm to get product out. I kind of fear for the day that I almost run out. I might just give up by then. If it were up to me, I would’ve got with a standard squeeze tube.
The scent reminds me of Borghese’s skincare/spa products. Luckily it’s barely noticeable after you apply it.
After a two weeks of use, I’ve noticed that it’s done a great job toning down the redness. My blemishes are still there, but their appearance has lessened. It does a great job of keeping my skin moisturized and my oil at bay. As such, I can probably live with the fact that it comes in a glass bottle that you use like ketchup. If this doesn’t deter you and you’ve got acne-prone, oily skin, I say go for it.
You can pick it up at KpopHeaven for $18 USD — not bad!
