I’m not particularly fond of using foundation all the time, it’s quite heavy and I don’t usually require the full coverage unless I’m breaking out. The solution for almost as much coverage, but with a lot of steps combined into one product? BB cream. Asian BB Cream is known to be a lot better than the ‘Americanized’ types they are selling here, so why not try out Tony Moly’s Expert Triple BB Cream to see how it’ll fair?
Endorsed by T-ara, the Tony Moly Expert Triple BB Cream packs three different functions into one BB cream: whitening, wrinkle care and UV protection with an SPF 45 PA +++
Formulated with red ginseng extract to help regenerate the fibroblast and boost the skin’s immunizing functions.
Organic Lavender Extract helps restore damaged skin and β-Glucan substance protects the Langerhans Cell in skin, which gets easily deteriorated by UV rays.
Packaging: There’s nothing really to comment on in terms of the packaging, it’s a white and silver tube with a pump at the bottom. It looks like most of your other BB Creams from Tony Moly and Etude House.
Texture: Very smooth like lotion, and how almost every other Asian BB Cream feels like. It also slides easier than the L’oreal BB Cream at your local drugstores or Walmart if you want a comparison between the two.
Shade + Coverage: It’s more of a medium beige once squeezed out of the tube. At first, I was worried about the BB Cream being a bit too dark for my skin, seeing how dark it came out–darker than my usual BB Cream colour, but after blending it in, I was pleased that it matched my skin colour and made sure that the colour on my face was more even. All it took was one pump and a teeny pump that I added for more coverage on my dark eye circles so that I could skip the concealer step. Having a light to medium coverage, this BB Cream seems to work really well with red spots and pimples, but will take a bit more effort with dark eye circles and other dark spots on your face.
Overall: This BB cream was surprisingly really light on my skin. After applying it onto my face with my fingers, I totally forgot that I had BB cream on my face at all! With the fact that there’s UV protection in the BB cream itself (SPF 45) you won’t actually have to worry about not having enough sun protection because of the high SPF number. The whitening properties in this BB cream also help slightly lighten your skin tone, in a not-so-omg-did-you-bleach-your-skin-kind-of-way. The only downside of this product I would say would be the fact that it comes in only one colour. If you’re out of the range of being light-to-medium, I’d say you would have to stick to the American branded ones as they offer BB creams in at least five colours.
