When I first saw NYX’s The Curve Eyeliner in all it’s abnormal curve-shaped glory, my mind raced to think of as many possible puns I could work into a review. Turns out, there aren’t too many. Well, aside from asking you kind readers if you think NYX’s The Curve Eyeliner is…ahead of the curve. Too cheesy, right? I wouldn’t ever ask you anything like that of course.

The Claims

Everything you need to know about NYX’s The Curve Eyeliner is stated here:

If you ask me, it sounds like an absolute eyeliner killer. The eyeliner to end all eyeliners. All other eyeliners should be shaking in’ their boots. Or I guess, ink.

Packaging/Design

The curve-shape of The Curve Eyeliner is the biggest standout of the design of this eyeliner. The purpose of the curve shape is to make the eyeliner application a more natural, less anxiety-filled experience.

The curve in the Curve Eyeliner is said to provide a grip that’s more ergonomic. It’s meant to be held like this:

When held, it really does feel natural and less like holding just a stick in your hands. When I apply liquid eyeliner, I’m always concerned about whether I’m holding the eyeliner at a correct angle to create the most precise line. The Curve Eyeliner is angled in design so you don’t have to worry about that at all.

Color

Blackest black.

Texture

Smooth and inky.

Scent

None.

Performance

The Curve Eyeliner produced the straightest lined eyes I could ever imagine. The first time was a little strange because I’m so accustomed to shakiness and varied angles that I hold my eyeliner. I felt more confident with the next stab and I think it shows (pictures above). What’s also great about The Curve Eyeliner is that it dries quickly and the the ink remained the same intense black throughout the whole day.

As far as the claims of it being smudge, feathering, skipping and running-proof …I found all those claims to be valid. The one complaint that I had was that although it’s ‘water resistant’ it’s not waterproof. Normally, I test eyeliner longevity by wearing the eyeliner during an at-home 40-min long cardio session. Sure, it’ll last you through an unexpected walk through drizzle and you’ve forgotten your umbrella at home, but not a sweaty workout. It’s just hopeless through sweat.

At the same time, I’m not one to be wearing makeup while working out. If this sounds like you and you’re in the market for fab, easy applying eyeliner, this is definitely something I recommend!

It’S interesting, but the fact it’s not water proof is definitely a minus-point =/

It’s shape is kinda interesting. Is it really that much easier to use? That’s cool :D
