Well, folks, it’s confirmed. My suspicion that Heidi Montag planned to use this plastic surgery business as a method of getting more press is confirmed. She did that teary-eyed interview with Access Hollywood a while ago, but I (and the rest of the world, I’m sure) saw right through her act. Calgel Nails: Pretty Pink Princess!

It has been a while since I’ve been able to get back to Hello Beautiful salon in Brooklyn to get my nails done. I really like getting Calgel on my nails, since my natural nails are sort of weak and break so easily. Calgel is a really great alternative to acrylic or traditional UV gel because it soaks off in acetone and requires only a little buffing before application, so it isn’t damaging and there is no drilling involved! Product Review: Lipstick Queen Black Tie Optional

In my interview with Lipstick Queen creator, Poppy King, we chatted about her Black Tie Optional lip products, which are sheer black products that you layer underneath your normal lip color. Poppy told me that these products work like sheer black stockings that you wear on your legs: they give them shape and definition. When you’re working on a beauty story with a great team with time restraints, the last thing you need is eye liner creasing off the models eyes. There’s nothing more embarrassing then having photographer come in to shot a close up of the models eyes and the eyeshadows have disappeared or worst, creased up into an oil spill. Make Up Tools: Sephora Shadow Shields

Here’s a tool that I’ve never seen before: shields that you put under your eyes so that your eye makeup doesn’t smudge while you are applying it, and then you throw them out. The Sephora Shadow Shields are essentially cotton pads with adhesive on the back so that they stay in place. But are these really necessary? (more…)
