For those who consider themselves part of the Chanel nail polish cult, here’s something to worship: A beautiful video paying tribute to Chanel’s most beloved, top-selling nail polish shades. Watch it here: More »

Any product targeted at women with the words ‘cotton fit’ in the name instantly leads me to believe that said product is of the feminine product or underwear-sort. So when Etude House rolled out with their latest BB cream, the Precious Mineral Cotton Fit BB Cream, I cringed because it sounded like a BB Cream tampon. Since the brand originates from Korea, where it’s okay to misuse English on a wide variety of products, I’m pretty much forgiving. And let’s not overlook that new ‘Honey Beige’ shade they’ve featured. Yay for catering to one more skin color! More »

One of the first things you’ll learn in applying liquid highlighter to oily skin is that it’ll make you look shiny-er. Powder highlighter is the next alternative though sometimes shimmer makes the pores large. If you’ve got oily skin, you most likely have large pores. Somehow, I’ve disregarded these rules to try out NYX’s Born to Glow Liquid Illuminator in Gleam. What can I say, I just can’t resist the temptation of shiny things. Also, at it’s price point, I was excited that it could be a cheaper version of a liquid illuminator, like say, the NARS Illuminator. Rules were meant to be broken, I suppose. More »

How many eyeshadow palettes do you know of that come in the shape of a country’s flag? If you asked me earlier this month, I would’ve said none. Now, not so much. Meet the Rimmel London Glam’Eyes HD Eyeshadow palette. It is super British — as in, the palette is the shape of the Union Jack. On a side note, how complicated would an eyeshadow palette in the shape of the US flag be? Sure, only 3 colors but those stars would be tricky. Anyway, I recently gave Rimmel London Glam’Eyes HD Eyeshadow a spin in Green Park. More »

Now that the Summer is almost officially here, it’s time to review our waterproof eyeliner options. One of the first few waterproof eyeliners that I’ve been playing around with for some time now is Rimmel London’s Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal. If you’ve never come across the turn ‘kajal,’ just know that it’s just another word for ‘kohl.’ Why these two are used in the same product name is beyond me. That’s like saying Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kohl or Kajal Kajal! I digress. More »

It didn’t take much for me to consider giving Rimmel London’s Scandaleyes Show Off Mascara a try. The fact that Kate Moss is seen in Rimmel London ads wearing the same mascara and that it’s a pink tube was enough for me. So without further adieu, my thoughts on Rimmel London Scandaleyes Show Off Mascara in 003 Extreme Black: More »

ORLY’s MegaPixel FX collection is quite possibly the only collection of nail lacquers to claim to give a multi-dimensional finish to nails. ORLY claims that the 3D formula of the MegaPixel FX nail lacquers provides millions of glitter pixels for a multi-dimensional finish. All it takes is just two quick drying layers create a long-lasting, hi-res manicure. More »

Is Lanvin way out of your wallet’s reach? Don’t worry. The upcoming Lancome x Alber Elbaz collection doesn’t quite have Lanvin’s name slapped on it, but it might as well be. The collection will focus on the eyes as Elbaz himself finds inspiration in shining eyes. More »

What’s the makeup scandal you say? Well, I decided to use Rimmel London’s Scandaleyes Shadow Sticks in a way not previously advertised. Earlier in the ’00s, MAC had a similar product with the same name — I used them mostly as a colored eyeshadow primer to give my eyeshadows a little color oomph on the eyes. Since that MAC product is no more, I had expectations on Rimmel London’s Scandaleyes Shadow Stick to be the same thing. It was wishful thinking on my part, but as it turns out…you shouldn’t give up on wishful thinking. More »

We know Vaseline is put on teeth to keep beauty pageant contestants smiling and on eyelids for a glossy runway look, but did you know it’s effective in keeping eye makeup in place? According to celebrity makeup artist Ashunta Sheriff, one tip she’s picked up along the way from fellow makeup artists is to use vaseline to prevent eyeliner or any sort of smoky eye look from budging out of place. Not that I’m considering a career as a flight attendant or anything, but I could never see myself working for Turkish Airlines. They recently banned their crew, namely female flight attendants from wearing red lipstick or any attention grabbing color. It doesn’t stop at lips — your nails can’t call for attention either. As for why, Turkish Airlines states that it, “impairs the visual integrity” of their teams further implying that red or any other bold color will clash with the pastel hues of attendant uniforms. Rather than look to the beach for summer beauty inspiration, the unveiling of Chanel’s Resort 2014 collection in Singapore showcased a different direction. To match the edge of the collection, models wore dramatic, side-swept bangs. Eyes featured heavy black cat eye lined eyes paired off with a neon blue running parallel on the lower lash line for an electrified look. Lips were kept nude in contrast to the dramatic eye look. I suppose you could also say that she’s also St. Tropez’s new body. St. Tropez, best known for their tanning/summer-ready beauty products, has recently christened Kate Moss their face…and body. This particular deal adds on to her current beauty resume featuring Rimmel London and Kerastase. Kate sure is unstoppable! Just look at this bod: More »

Etude House recently hopped on the CC Cream train, releasing the Correct & Care CC Cream. Available in both a natural finish (01 Silky) and a dewy (02 Glow) finish, the Correct & Care CC Cream is a multitasker combining 8 effects into one CC Cream. Given that I’ve got oily skin that doesn’t play well with added shine in liquid form (read: grease ball face effect), I opted to try the natural finish, 01 Silky which coincedently sounds like a really bad rapper name. Yo, yo mic check 1, 2. This is Number 1 Silky in da house! Hit it! More »

Everyday that teleportation doesn’t exist is a day in which many people will struggle to look fabulous while travelling. Airlines will continue to charge us extra for luggage that could’ve been used to contain all of our special beauty things. Also, who’s to say that when teleportation does exist, it won’t cost us? What if we’re charged by each particle of matter that we’re teleporting? Future problems aside, I’m someone who’s been known to travel without checking in luggage. These are my tips for staying beautiful on the go: More »
