Continuing the rose theme in Lancome’s Spring 2012 La Roseraie Des Delices Collection is the Color Design 5 Pan Shadow and Liner Palette in Rose Romance. Although Lancome’s Spring 2012 collection is an homage to the rose, I can’t help but be reminded of macarons! The Rose Romance palette is a mix of bright and pale pinks, peach and a burgundy liner. Here’s a look at the palette: More »

If you were the weird kid in elementary school who enjoyed putting glue on your hands only to peel your skin off a few minutes later, you’re in luck. Using Missha’s Super Aqua Oxygen Micro Essence Peeling made me feel like that weird kid again, but in a delightful way devoid of that weird glue smell. This product straight from Korea is described by Missha as an, “essence peeling gel made with micro peeling technology that produces micro oxygen particles that penetrate deeply into the skin to eliminate dead skin cells without scrubbing and provide nutrition to the deepest layer of the skin.” Whew. If you thought that was a long description, get a load of the characteristics of the product (as described by Missha): More »

Given the positive response Urban Decay’s received from the Naked Palette, they decided to go Naked again. Not literally of course, but in the form of Naked 2. And so for the first time, I’ve decided to take the plunge and go Naked…Naked 2 that is. How many times more will I be saying ‘naked’ in this review? Too many times. So go on, let’s get Naked(2) with me: More »

Following the theme of exotic locales in the Nars Spring 2012 collection comes the NARS Valparaiso Pure Matte Lipstick. Named after the growing Chilean cultural capital, the Valparaiso Pure Matte Lipstick is a rich long-wearing raspberry with what NARS calls a ‘comfortable’ finish. Like the Paramaribo Eyeshadow Duo, Valparaiso’s shade of raspberry isn’t quite your typical Spring lipstick shade but hey…who wants to be typical? (Not me!) More »

With the release of NARS Spring 2012 collection coming around soon, I was eager to get my hands on the NARS Paramaribo Eyeshadow Duo. If you happen to be a geography buff, you’d know that Paramaribo is the largest city in Suriname. Drawing inspiration from this tropical city in South America, the Paramaribo Eyeshadow Duo consists of a metallic bronze and brass shades. Brass and bronze aren’t typically colors that come to mind when Spring is concerned but you can always count on NARS for putting a fresh beauty spin on the seasons. More »

Following Joanna Vargas Skincare’s Vitamin C Face Wash is the Daily Serum. The Daily Serum is a serum packed with immune boosting green tea, chlorophyll, Larch Tree Extract, Avena Sativa/Oat Grass Juice and in addition to that, Vitamins A, C, F (found in leafy green vegetables, anti-inflammatory properties) and E. If that sounds like a lot, it’s because it does a lot. According to Joanna Vargas, “Moisturizers are made to be barriers for day; their primary function isn’t to hydrate but to protect against the environment. But if your serums are made to protect against that anyway, you won’t need anything else.” That said, The Daily Serum shaves off that all-important moisturizing step in a daily skincare routine. Following my Oxygen Purifying Facial at Joanna Vargas’ Salon, I was given a few products from her recently launched skincare line. For over a month, I’ve been test driving her products which are said to be based on 100% natural ingredients, free of petrochemicals and parabens and naturally not tested on animals. The first product I’ll be jumping into is the Vitamin C Face Wash. More »

My latest bright lipstick exploit has come to me in the form of NYX’s Black Label Lipstick in Apple. Apple is a bright, candy apple red shade with orange undertones. It’s a shade of red that works best with warm/yellow toned skin. Here it is swatched on my arm: More »

A recent trip to my mom’s beauty drawer turned up Dior’s 3 Couleurs Ready-To-Wear Smoky Eyeshadow Palette in Smoky Pink 051. What’s a beauty junkie daughter to do? Try out the palette, of course. More »

While gel/fluid eyeliner does wonders for people with shaky hands, I’ve found that it doesn’t produce the darkest lines. As a person with shaky hands, I’ve come to fear liquid liner. Recently I sucked it up to try out POPBeauty’s Ink Outliner in Inked (aka black). Ink Outliner is a thick pen designed for bold black precision lining. Or, liquid liner made easy. More »

Earlier this month I had my very first Oxygen Purifying Facial at the Joanna Vargas Salon. I’m happy to report that since then, I haven’t experienced a breakout, despite that time of the month! Although I had reservations on the oxygen facial treatment due to the existence of anaerobic bacteria, further research on oxygen facials has lead me to discover just exactly how effective oxygen facials are in healing the skin. Long before there was NARS Orgasm blush, there was NARS lipstick. Curious to see what launched the NARS brand, I went ahead and tried NARS lipstick in Damage. More »

Vincent Longo’s Sun Moon Stars Eyeshadow Trio has a unique concept that likens your eyes to celestial beings (hence the ’sun, moon and stars’). The trio isn’t a palette of three eyeshadows but three shadows streamlined into one large eyeshadow pot, perhaps to suggest a sort of celestial balance. The trio that I recently tested was Orbit Dusk. More »

The current season has sent me on a hunt for gold and copper shades for anything. My recent stalking for a copper nail polish sent me to e.l.f. and their line of $2.00 nail polish. Not surprisingly, I tried out e.l.f. nail polish in Copper. More »
