I’m not a huge fan of lip gloss. I like the concept, but usually the lip glosses that I end up trying are either way too sticky or the color is weird. However, there is one lip gloss that has made its way into my purse and I find myself pulling it out constantly throughout the day: TRUE Cosmetics Sheer Lip Shine. More »

Many of us have fond memories of Disney princess movies, and my guess is that you probably had a favorite. Similarly, you probably had a Disney villain that terrified you — I know that Ursula from The Little Mermaid scared the heck out of me! Now MAC is releasing a collection to pay homage to the Disney villains! More »

This past weekend was the 5th annual The Makeup Show in NYC! It’s an annual convention where everyone who is anyone in the world of cosmetics comes to showcase their products to makeup artists and beauty editors. This was my first year attending, and I was totally carried away by everything there was to do! More »

I’m not a M.A.C girl so this is news to me, but did you know that M.A.C Cosmetics accepts returns of their primary packaging containers through the Back to M.A.C Program? More »

MAC collaborations seem endless these days. I feel like I hear about a new one every few weeks! It’s a good thing that they seem to think them out well, because I rarely see one that doesn’t look at least a little interesting. The newest collaboration to be announced is Alice + Olivia for MAC, and it sure looks colorful! More »

When news of the MAC Lady Gaga Viva Glam VII lipstick broke out, I was all over it. I’m usually skeptical about lipstick shades marketed with a light-skinned celebrity, but that didn’t stop me either. The fact that this shade quickly sold out everywhere didn’t stop me. I’m something of a rabid Lady Gaga fan. Last week, I was lucky enough to get my hands on the Lady Gaga lipstick, and it did not disappoint! More »

Liberty of London recently did a huge collaboration with Target, and they have also teamed up with the beauty experts at MAC to create a special color line for spring! The collection is called Give Me Liberty of London, and my favorite item is a nail lacquer in a moody hue. More »

In my interview with Lipstick Queen creator, Poppy King, we chatted about her Black Tie Optional lip products, which are sheer black products that you layer underneath your normal lip color. Poppy told me that these products work like sheer black stockings that you wear on your legs: they give them shape and definition. I have to admit that I was a tad bit skeptical at first, but I’m actually pretty impressed by the results! More »

As you are probably well-aware, MAC scored big with this year’s Viva Glam collaboration by enlisting Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper as spokeswomen. They’ve already done the morning show circuit to promote the lipsticks which will be available March 15th. Every penny of the money you pay for a lipstick goes to the MAC AIDS Fund! Tomorrow, March 1st, Gaga and Ms. Lauper will be conducting a live interview from London, moderated by Sharon Osbourne, and you can watch it online! More »

As soon as I saw the pictures from Cynthia Rowley’s Fall 2010 show, I immediately fell in love with the beauty looks. Sometimes your standard dramatic eye and red lip combination gets a little bit old, but I felt like this look definitely took the show to a really playful and unique level. More »

The Mulleavy sisters, the brains behind Rodarte, showed their Fall 2010 collection on Tuesday, and Women’s Wear Daily reported that morning that MAC will release a collaborative color collection with the designers this September. More »

Yesterday, Diane von Furstenberg showed her Fall 2010 collection at Bryant Park. The clothing was the ladylike edgy style that we’ve come to expect from the line, and the colors stayed fairly dark and neutral with pops of color thrown in. The makeup focused on a statement eye that was beyond smoky. More »

Were you starting to sweat about finding your perfect red lip color for fall? Well maybe now you should start worrying about finding a perfect… purple? Peter Som sent his models down the runway yesterday with dark purple lips, and they actually looked sort of awesome. More »

Last weekend, I wondered if you use makeup brushes or your fingers to apply your face. I use brushes because I think they give you more control over your products, but one of the downsides is that you have to constantly clean them in order to keep bacteria from growing. I tried a new way of cleaning my brushes today, and I have to say that it worked pretty well. More »

According to an article from the New York Times, women these days are more open to trying out bright, punchy colors in their makeup. Do think that’s true? I’ve definitely starting venturing out a little more in my color selection lately — I recently bought a new hot pink MAC lipstick, and instead of feeling self-conscious it makes me feel confident!
