ELLE.com did a great little story on some of the best budget makeup products on the market. They asked three makeup artists to share their secrets, and they came up with almost 30 great options that are not only budget-friendly, but most of the items are available at your local drugstore! More »

RevitaLash® - Eyelash Conditioner is quickly becoming a favorite among celebrities like Courtney Cox, Vanessa Williams, Lindsay Price, Ivanka Trump, Kristin Chenoweth, Felicity Huffman, Debra Messing, Lorraine Bracco, Hayden Panettiere. More »

This video is by no means new, but I just found it when doing some internet browsing a few weeks ago. It’s an informational video about how to be chic like a French woman, and something about it made me wonder, “is this girl for real?” Watch as she demonstrates how you can be as chic as the French. My ultimate favorite lash curler is Shu Uemura’s. I have been using it for eight years now. Its silicon pad design easily protects and safely gives your lashes a natural curl. When you are working with all kinds of lashes, this miracle lash curler was especially designed to apply the perfect amount of pressure on the lashes, and the curve angle works on all eye dimensions. Beauty trends for Spring 2010 seem to be headed in the natural direction. The look is simple soft eyes, naturally flushed cheeks and nude lipstick. I think it is a nice change from the usual smokey eyes and red lips. This look can easily be achieved in three simple steps. More »

There’s a new mascara by Clinique called High Lengths Mascara that is supposed to give you volume and length instantly. The wand is specially designed to give your lashes length without clumping. The unique wand is a long thin comb curved into a slight slant. More »

White eyeliners are making a return for spring/summer 2010. This colorless pencil made its appearance at the Anna Sui Spring 2010 Show. The makeup was a classic look of natural eyeshadows, plenty of black mascara, rosy cheeks, and eyes softly outlined in white eyeliner on the inside rim of the lower lids. More »

False lashes are fun to wear! The only problem is, if not applied correctly, it can be a total beauty nightmare.

It’s not easy to apply false lashes on yourself, so lots of practice makes perfect. The number one application point to remember is to never close your eyes when applying the lashes on. The glue will adhere to your eyelid and glue them shut. More »

You may have seen Penelope Cruz in the ads for L’Oreal’s newest mascara. I confess, I have a total girl-crush on her and I’d love to be as much of a bombshell as she is (with my blonde hair and see-though pale skin, I’ve accepted that this is probably not happening for me). I was excited when I received the L’Oreal Telescopic Explosion Mascara as a stocking stuffer this year, because at least if I can’t be tan and have a sexy accent, I might as well have luscious lashes, right? Maybe it has something to do with the recession or our newfound love for natural beauty. Whatever the case, we were all still wearing makeup in 2009, but we went for makeup that gave us a more natural look. You know, wearing makeup without looking like we were wearing makeup. Sounds like it could be a bit confusing, but it makes perfect sense!

Wouldn’t it be amazing to be a complete 100% natural beauty? As in, you roll out of bed in the morning and with no makeup on, your face is completely flawless? Well, there aren’t too many people like that out there (if any?). But there is plenty of makeup that will make you look like a natural beauty! Some of my celebrity role models for natural beauty in 2009 include Lauren Conrad, Nicole Kidman, and Kate Hudson. More »

On the set of Demi Moore’s photo shoot for the Harper’s Bazaar April cover, Demi tested out the new Helena Rubinstein Lash Queen Mascara with stylist Rachel Zoe (Demi Moore, by the way, is the face of the new Helena Rubinstein All You’ve Ever WANTED fragrance, and looks about the same age as Ashton in the ads). In any event, she is giving beauty lovers an opp to try the new mascara. More »

This is the last blog in this three part series of lash lust… and I love to save the best for last! I’m not big on fake things or spending tons of money, so maybe that’s why I’m partial to Option #3. But after trying two out of the three options I’ve given you firsthand, I honestly feel that #3 is the best bet for your time, money, and aggravation. I hinted in my last post that it was mascara, but are you ready for the big reveal??? More »

When Maybelline first started advertising their Pulse Perfection mascara, I have to admit that I was a little skeptical. Basically, it is a regular black mascara that comes with a vibrating brush which is supposed to coat your lashes better (you know how makeup artists do that fancy brush-wiggle trick?).

Unfortunately, I had a hard time with this one… More »
