The first time that I learned about Mary Quant was in high school when a fashion-forward friend of mine lent me a book about fashion history. If you aren’t familiar with her name, you are definitely familiar with her fashion contribution — a little something called the mini skirt? Heard of it? Thought so. Each year, Marc Jacobs releases a new set of limited edition body splash fragrances. I’m a regular user of Marc’s signature perfume, but sometimes during the summer months it’s nicer to just use a lighter scent (I’m no scientist, but I seem to remember from a science class that the warmer the weather is, the faster molecules move, making perfumes seem stronger). The new collection of scents are inspired by things in a patisserie shop (Look at the macarons in the ad! So cute!!), so you can be sure they’ll be yummy! More »

I’m not exactly sure how long Demeter Fragrances has been around, but it has definitely been a while. I remember being in junior high and sampling every Demeter spray in the collection pretty much every time that I went to the mall (yep, I even loved beauty back then!). They’ve always had some pretty off-the-wall scents, but most of them are shockingly accurate. I remember one of my favorites was Tomato, because it absolutely smelled like the tomato plants my mom grew in her garden.

I also recall loving the Sex on the Beach scent, although at the time I thought it was just a funny name and not a drink. Demeter has a whole line of cocktail-inspired scents that are definitely worth checking out! More »
