Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin have just been named the newest spokespeople for MAC’s Viva Glam campaign. They are currently in Miami shooting ads with the famed photographer David LaChapelle. Having been to Korea a few times, Missha is easily described as the Korean version of CoverGirl or whatever US drugstore cosmetics brand you like. The brand is cheap, affordable and pretty much everywhere. Word of mouth has it that Missha M Lumous Color Lip Rouge in PK107, a blue-based pink, is pretty much the coveted MAC Lady Gaga Viva Glam VII dopelganger. As a self-professed Lady Gaga fan and because I’m always interested in the cheaper version of mid-range and high-end cosmetics, I decided to give into what beauty mavens were saying about Missha’s M Lumous Color Lip Rouge in PK107. When news of the MAC Lady Gaga Viva Glam VII lipstick broke out, I was all over it. I’m usually skeptical about lipstick shades marketed with a light-skinned celebrity, but that didn’t stop me either. The fact that this shade quickly sold out everywhere didn’t stop me. As you are probably well-aware, MAC scored big with this year’s Viva Glam collaboration by enlisting Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper as spokeswomen. They’ve already done the morning show circuit to promote the lipsticks which will be available March 15th. Every penny of the money you pay for a lipstick goes to the MAC AIDS Fund! Tomorrow, March 1st, Gaga and Ms. Lauper will be conducting a live interview from London, moderated by Sharon Osbourne, and you can watch it online! More »
