YouTube has many videos about beauty, specifically makeup tutorials: the most viewed and popular beauty videos this year were makeup tutorials, including a LMFAO’s single “Sexy and I Know It“-inspired makeup tutorial and an Angelina Jolie makeup tutorial. More »

Can’t get enough of Youtube? Well how about having it on your nails 24/7. Youtube user, meliney, has created this cute and easy design that you could wear anytime, anywhere! Check out her video below! More »

I didn’t know there were such things as a beauty tutorial on ‘How to wear your perfume.’ I just spray them on my neck and off I go. You get the point right? Until today, famous sensational make up guru, Michelle Phan uploaded a video on Youtube showing us the do’s and don’t of perfume. Might sound awkward but it really taught me a lot! Check out the video below: More »

I absolutely love makeup palettes. I tend not to buy eye shadows in individual containers because it’s usually more expensive to buy them that way, so unless it’s a color that I really want, I don’t buy it. Whenever I get a new makeup palette, I get so excited — it’s like getting a brand new cosmetics case all at once! I just watched some YouTube videos about Sephora’s new Color Play 5-in-1 Palette, and now I need it, like right now. More »

Remember those crystal tattoos that you used to be able to buy at Claire’s? Maybe you can still buy them there… it’s been a while since I frequented that store. Anyway, there is now a trend credited to Jennifer Love Hewitt called Vajazzling, which is the art of decorating below the bikini line with Swarovski crystals. Uh, what? More »

Michelle Phan is one of the most recognizable faces in the world of YouTube makeup tutorials, and now she has signed a deal with Lancome to do a series of makeup tutorial videos exclusively for them! This is really exciting news for her, as she talks about in this video. More »

I’m always a little late on viewing my subscriptions on YouTube. While I was watching the videos I had missed from glowpinksta [who hooked me with her Chola Makeup Tutorial], I came upon one where she was helping a friend advertise for her online cosmetic store, Valentine Kisses. So I checked out the site and what caught my attention (other than the layout), were the unbelievably great prices. There’s also free shipping to boot :] More »

So it turns out that chocolate does the body good inside and out (did you read this piece in the New York Times yesterday about chocolate and yoga?)! Having a piece of chocolate usually makes my day a little brighter, but did you know that it also has anti-inflammatory properties? Neither did I! I first saw chocolate wax being offered at a salon a few years ago, and I assumed that it was just being offered as a novelty. Then I looked into it further and learned that it does serve a purpose! One of my favorite movies of all time is Belle de Jour, starring Catherine Deneuve. If you haven’t seen it, you should! Catherine was such a beauty back in the day, and I absolutely loved the chic and effortless hairstyle that she sports after a long day at the, um, brothel — the French twist. However, as a girl with relatively fine hair, I have a heck of a time getting it to stay pinned in place once I twist it up, proving the “effortless” part of the look quite untrue. I scoured YouTube for a good video, and my favorite happens to be by the same user who brought us last week’s Bow Hair. More »

Ok, so there seems to be a hair theme this week, and then there’s also this sort of annoying Lady Gaga theme that I can’t seem to get off of. I apologize, but here we go again. I was browsing YouTube this morning, and I came across this video done by a girl in Japan on how to make a bow out of your own hair! Don’t worry, the instructions are written in English too, so non-Japanese speakers can follow along. More »

As helpful as Youtube make-up tutorials are, they’re also totally hilarious. Especially if they’re mocking society’s less-than-desirable looks. One such look is Gloria aka Glowpinkstah’s “Chola Make-up Tutorial.” Sandra Bullock is a total fan, judging by the way she recently volunteered herself to be made over by Gloria on the George Lopez Show. 1 million+ hits can’t be wrong either. Despite being tragically named the 00s, some of the biggest stand-out trends of the decade had nothing to do with the number ‘0′ but rather the idea that the things you desired physically for yourself, were easily attainable. Clip it on, inject it, straighten it…beauty in the 00s meant defying your genetic make-up. Sometimes to an extreme extent. You’ll know what I mean with my list of Top 10 Beauty Trends of the Decade. There are endless hours of beauty tutorials on YouTube nowadays, so it can be tricky to weed out the bad ones. Lucky for you, I watch far too many of them and I’ll feature the ones I like here! Today’s video is from Pursebuzz, a great blog/vlog that covers beauty! She made an awesome tutorial on how to get Lady Gaga’s look from the Bad Romance video! More »

From Ningin: What I absolutely love about the world we live in today is the fact that I no longer have to leave the comfort of my own home for beauty advice. Had this been the world I lived in when I was going to prom, I would’ve had better prom pictures to show people. Embarrassing life moments aside, I now owe it all to the Top 5 Asian Youtube Beauty Gurus for making life a lot easier. After all, I wasn’t born looking this good. Sorry guys. More »
